Today’s recipe is for Cookies for special occasions.

It is crazy how good are those cookies, especially considering that they don’t look much.

Usually I’m like the biscuits police and prefer the classic, UFO shaped cookies over any other but this time I decided to change my ways. Instead of sticking to well known patterns, I shaped them in small, slightly flattened balls. That way they look great in corns (in which I love to serve them).

I also changed the original grappa to orange liquor. So there you go – perfect chocolate cookie bites with a splash of spicy orange. Could you imagine a combination better than that? 🙂

Orange Brownie Cookies

225g dark chocolate

100g flour

2 eggs

65g sugar

45g butter

2 tablespoons of orange liquor

0.5 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

powdered sugar

Melt chocolate with orange liqueur. Whip eggs with sugar and gradually pour cooled chocolate while still mixing. Add flour, baking powder and stir until the dough gets sticky.

Refrigerate for an hour.

Shape the dough into balls and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Flatten slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Bake for 20 minutes in 180 °C.

That’s it folks. Enjoy!
