Black and White Drunk Cake

Last few weeks were very eventful and I felt a bit tired so for this Sunday I wanted to do something fun but not complicated.

This recipe is exactly that – light, fluffy, with endless potential for your own twist (cover it witch chocolate, add cherries, bake it as muffins, etc.) and for all of you tired creatures, a slight taste of orange liquor will bring back your spirit 😀

125g butter

110g flour

1 spoon cocoa

125g powdered sugar

4 eggs

teaspoon of baking powder

few drops of vanilla scent

a cup of strong, sweet tea with a 25ml orange liquor

Melt butter and cool it down. Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Half of sugar whisk with egg whites; other half with yolks.

Add two spoons of egg whites mixture to the yolks and mix gently with a wooden spoon. Add vanilla and flour mixture. Mix  everything with a spoon. Add melted butter, stir and at the end add remaining egg whites.

Pour half of the mixture to another bowl and add cocoa powder. Stir lightly.

Pour both mixtures alternately  to a small baking tray.

Bake for 45-50 minutes in 180 degrees.

When cake is cool prick it with a skewers stick. Soak the cake, spoon by spoon, with a mixture of a warm sweet team and orange liquor.
